SERGIO CASTELLANOS is a Russian-Cuban artist born in St. Petersburg, Russia. In Cuba, he earned a degree in Fine Arts, experimenting with wood, copper wire, and painting. At the age of eighteen, Sergio fled Cuba and settled in Costa Rica, where he lived for ten years before emigrating to the United States. He now serves in the U.S. Navy while continuing to create his distinctive, hand-weaved copper sculptures, utilizing his medical training to ensure their anatomical accuracy. Sergio currently resides in the Old Town of Alexandria, Virginia.
